I received a lovely box in the mail from my kids today. In it was the brown wrap that I sent to Terry and Jen to wrap the baby up in (which they did), and now it's summer there and winter here, I have the wrap back, and it's so much nicer knowing it's been wrapped around my grandson. And it's probably just my imagination but I could swear I can smell that 'baby' smell (the good kind). It's like a big hug. Here's the wrap wrapped around 'Ricky Roo': Ricky Roo, all wrapped in love The purple Tshirt says: 'Remember, Celebrate, Fight Back' and was the official Relay for Life 2008 Tshirt. Mine is purple and is for cancer survivors... I know that because on the back it says in big bold letters 'SURVIVOR'. I'm holding a little red cardinal that was in the package. It's wearing a Tshirt that says 'Saginaw, Michigan'. Cardinals are the official mascot of SVSU (Saginaw Valley State University). I'm not sure if this little fellow is an official mascot or not, but he's very cuddly and cute. I'm wondering if he isn't the same one that Ricky (my grandbaby) has/had? I guess someone will tell me. I'm also holding a bag that has a butterfly on it along with my name. It was designed by my daughter and was used as part of the illumination thingys that lit the paths for the Relay for Life event. In side the bag (as I was running out of hands), is a CD my son sent with photos from the Relay for Life event. All very amazing. There's a pic that looks like it was taken just before daybreak that has both my son and daughter sitting together on the grass listening to a speaker or band that's off camera. It was very deeply moving for me. And last, I'm holding an 'Instant FAVE' card as all these things that arrived on a day I really needed a big hug were definitely an instant Fave with me! |
